A new bespoke sauna project is currently taking shape in Limassol, Cyprus. Designed for a private villa, this wellness space combines Scandinavian minimalism, premium materials, and advanced smart home integration.
With three-meter-high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glazing, floating benches, and sophisticated lighting design, the project is being developed to deliver a seamless balance of architecture, technology, and comfort.
Architecture and Materials
One of the defining features of this sauna is its impressive spatial geometry, made possible by the three-meter ceiling height and full-height glazing.
The interior is clad in premium thermally modified Black Alder, selected for its rich dark tone, dimensional stability, and elegant appearance. Floating multi-level benches create a clean architectural look while enhancing the sense of openness throughout the space.
Large panoramic glass panels visually connect the sauna with the surrounding interior, reinforcing the minimalist design concept and creating a feeling of transparency and freedom.
Hidden Engineering and Smart Home Integration
Behind the minimalist design lies a sophisticated engineering solution developed specifically for this project.
A custom ventilation system is fully integrated into the wall and ceiling structure, remaining completely invisible while ensuring optimal air circulation and comfort.
The sauna is equipped with a premium EOS Stone S60 Bi-O heater and advanced control technology integrated into the property's smart home system. This allows the owners to manage temperature, humidity, and sauna settings remotely via smartphone or tablet.
The result is a wellness environment that combines luxury, convenience, and effortless operation.
Lighting Design by Cariitti
Lighting plays a central role in shaping the atmosphere of the space.
Concealed Cariitti LED lighting is integrated beneath the floating benches and within the ceiling details, creating a soft ambient glow that highlights the natural textures of the materials.
A dedicated Cariitti projection lens focuses light directly onto the heater, emphasizing the stone surface and creating a striking visual effect when steam rises from the sauna.
