A sauna sound system does not need to be complicated. For most private saunas in Cyprus, a simple two-speaker stereo system is enough to create comfortable, evenly distributed background music.
The important part is not simply how many speakers you install, but where you place them and what equipment you use.
How Many Speakers Do You Need?
For a typical private sauna, we recommend starting with two speakers — left and right.
The EOS SBM-Sound BT module is designed as a stereo system with a built-in 2 × 15 W amplifier and can be connected to two sauna loudspeakers. Music can be played via Bluetooth, USB, SD card or analogue input, while compatible EOS control units can be used to control the audio system.
Where Should Sauna Speakers Be Installed?
There is no universal rule such as “one speaker per X square metres.”
The correct position depends on the shape of the sauna, bench layout, heater location and number of seating levels.
For a typical private sauna, a good starting configuration is:
Speaker 1 → one side of the sauna
Speaker 2 → opposite side of the sauna
The speakers should provide an even sound field across the seating area rather than being aimed directly at the user's head.
Avoid placing speakers:
-
directly above the sauna heater;
-
immediately next to the heater;
-
directly behind a person's head;
-
where water can accumulate;
-
where they interfere with ventilation or the backrest.
The speaker position should be decided together with the sauna heater, benches and ventilation during the design stage.
Use Speakers Designed for Sauna Conditions
A normal home speaker is not designed for the environment inside a sauna.
High temperatures, humidity and condensation require dedicated equipment.
The EOS Sauna Loudspeaker available from Poolspacy is designed specifically for sauna and steam-room applications. It features IP65 protection, a fiberglass membrane and temperature resistance up to 120°C. It is also suitable for outdoor and coastal wellness environments.

For a typical private sauna, the configuration can be as simple as:
EOS SBM-Sound BT + 2 × EOS Sauna Loudspeakers
Keep the Audio Electronics Outside the Sauna
The sound module should be installed outside the hot sauna cabin, for example in a technical cabinet or another accessible location.
Only the dedicated sauna speakers and their wiring need to enter the cabin.
This protects the electronics and makes future maintenance easier.
The EOS SBM-Sound BT is designed to integrate with compatible EOS control systems, including EmoTec D/H, EmoStyle Hi and EmoTouch 3.

What About a Larger Sauna?
For larger private saunas, hotel spas and commercial wellness facilities, simply adding more powerful speakers is not always the best solution.
If the sauna is long, has several seating levels or has separate seating zones, four smaller speakers can sometimes provide a more even sound level than two powerful speakers.
The layout should be designed around the actual geometry of the room.
The goal is not maximum volume. It is comfortable and evenly distributed sound throughout the sauna.
What About a Hammam?
The same principle applies to a hammam or steam room, but the speaker should be specifically designed for high humidity, steam and condensation.
The audio module and other electronic components should remain outside the humid environment, while the dedicated steam-room speaker is installed inside the hammam.
For hammams, we use a separate EOS loudspeaker model specifically designed for steam rooms.
EOS Loudspeaker for Steam Rooms – White

If a project includes both a sauna and a hammam, we recommend using the appropriate speaker for each environment:
Sauna → EOS Sauna Loudspeaker
Hammam → EOS Steam Room Loudspeaker
This provides reliable sound while keeping the audio equipment properly adapted to the different environmental conditions of each wellness zone.
A Simple Sauna Audio System
For a typical private sauna in Cyprus, the system can therefore be:
EOS Sauna Control Unit → EOS SBM-Sound BT → 2 × EOS Sauna Loudspeakers
For larger wellness projects, the speaker layout can be designed around the sauna geometry, seating arrangement and overall wellness concept.
At Poolspacy, we can specify the audio equipment, speaker locations, wiring and control integration as part of the sauna design.

Planning a Sauna in Cyprus?
Whether you are building a private sauna in Limassol, Paphos, Nicosia or another location in Cyprus, the audio system should be planned before the sauna is constructed.
This allows the speakers, cables and control equipment to be integrated into the design from the beginning.
